From the engineering of individual solutions to the design of whole vehicles, our engineers take on assignments for our customers and support them in their work. The assistance we offer our clients covers the interior and exterior, ranging from advance development and body design tasks to the engineering of opening systems or seating systems. Customers from the auto industry as well as manufacturers of commercial vehicles and motorbikes have appreciated our expertise for many years.

The extensive capacity of our computing systems and state-of-the-art CAD software and hardware enable our engineers to accept and handle comprehensive development tasks, applying simultaneous engineering as a basic idea: defined interfaces link all subordinate areas to permit an effective product gestation process through combined integrative effort. Whether our engineers carry out development projects in our own branches or work on the customer’s premises is secondary.

At Design Engineering we profit from collaboration with other departments and accordingly can offer integrated projects as a one-stop service. If specialized knowledge is required, we can concentrate the know-how of the entire group on one project; the same applies to resource pooling. An up-to-date infrastructure with server connections, net meetings and videoconferences also allows us to have work done at other locations and simultaneously monitor the progress of the work from the location which farms it out.

In view of the developments in the motor vehicle market, in the next few years Semcon will concentrate even more strongly on technologies like SafeGreenConnected. In order to make optimal use of all available resources we will rely on powerful software, intelligent processes and networking between locations.
